ESL Teacher

Wise Academy is a school for English language and Western culture. We provide unique English classes to a variety of non-native English speakers in the Tokyo area. Our programs use fun activities to help students improve their conversational English and communication skills, as well as their understanding of Western culture and daily life.

Job Title : ESL Teacher

This dynamic and fun position is perfect for those looking to expand their teaching skills while being part of a school dedicated to community and customer service. This position is part-time/full-time (negotiable).

Job Description:

Plan and teach group/private ESL classes with diverse subjects
Develop curriculum for specialized student programs (children and adults)
Participate in cultural activities with students
Demonstrate trial lessons and consultations for prospective/existing students

Job Qualifications:

One year experience teaching, tutoring, working with non-native English speakers or extensive travel experience
BA/BS or higher; TEFL/TESOL certificate preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication
Enthusiasm for developing lessons and activities for non-native speakers
Great personality and ability to talk and ask questions about a variety of topics

Requirements:

Native English speaker
Proper visa
Currently living in the Tokyo area

Work hours:

Flexible (both morning and evening hours available)

hours and work days are somewhat flexible and we are willing to negotiate.

Job Location:

Toshima-Ku Minami Ikebukuro (6-minute walk from JR Ikebukuro Station and 3-minute walk from Yurakucho line Higashi Ikebukuro Station) and suburbs

Compensation:

Teaching (part-time): 2,200-3,200 Yen/hour commensurate with skills and experience
Teaching (full-time): 230,000-280,000 Yen/month commensurate with skills and experience
Commuting expenses: Public transportation fee provided
